My Metformin Side Effects: Feeling Ill All the Time
I took Metformin for a few of weeks right around the Christmas holidays this past year. I am not diabetic, but I have had a difficult time taking weight off. I have symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), and it is sometimes prescribed to relieve some of the symptoms of PCOS, specifically insulin resistance. One of the causes of PCOS is insulin resistance. Actually, doctors have not decided whether PCOS is caused by insulin resistance, or if the insulin resistance exists because of the polycystic ovaries. Metformin Side Effects: Experiences of a Bride to Be
Metformin is a common medication that is prescribed to people who are suffering from Type 2 diabetes. However, I have also seen it prescribed to people who are looking to lose weight with very little effort. A very close friend of mine, whom I also work with, had taken this drug just for that purpose, to lose weight before her wedding. She had spoken with her doctor, and he had suggested that she try Metformin as there are very few side effects. She thought that this would be a great idea. On her wedding day, she envisioned that she would be beautiful and skinny, shedding those pounds that she just could not seem to rid herself of from just exercise and a tiny diet change.
